How to reconstitute lyophilized peptides

Technical guide for reconstituting lyophilized vials with bacteriostatic water while preserving peptide activity.

Lyophilized peptides are extremely stable at ambient temperature but require careful reconstitution before experimental use.

The most common solvent is bacteriostatic water (BAC water) with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which prevents microbial contamination without altering peptide structure.

Inject the solvent slowly against the vial wall, let dissolve without shaking, and refrigerate at 2–8°C once reconstituted.
