Lyophilized peptides are stable for months when kept cold and protected from light. Once reconstituted they move to an aqueous phase and their stability decreases.
Sealed vial (lyophilized)
- Short term (≤ 30 days): 2–8 °C.
- Long term: −20 °C or below.
- Protect from UV light and humidity. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution
Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is recommended as a sterile diluent. Add slowly along the vial wall, avoid vigorous agitation and do not invert abruptly. The solution should be clear and colorless.
Reconstituted vial
- Store at 2–8 °C.
- Indicative stability: 14–28 days depending on the peptide.
- Discard on turbidity, precipitate or color change.
Good laboratory practices
- Handle with gloves in a clean area.
- Record reconstitution date on the label.
- Use a fresh sterile tip for each draw.
